This is most definitely not the best site ever however … This is the first post on the newly relaunched rhianblock.com site. I started this blog back in the early 2000s, long before Facebook and other social media platforms existed for sharing stories or random snippets of information with the masses. Initially, it served as an outlet for my thoughts. Over time, the blog faced numerous technical challenges, and a ransomware attack exacerbated the situation when hackers demanded bitcoin, derailing my efforts to revive it. But now, the tech is back up and running, and it’s in a much better state this time around. Eventually, I hope to bring back the old blog in some form because it had many interesting posts that I still enjoy revisiting. After all, our past helps shape many aspects of our lives.
Many things have occurred since the last entry, including the arrival and departure of a worldwide pandemic that quite literally shuttered and reformulated the way we as humans interacted with each other. Many people lost loved ones without even being able to say goodbye other than through a computer or phone screen. A once-in-a-lifetime event is something multiple generations will never forget.
Switching back to the purpose of this entry: there’s no official theme for this site, and the content will remain very random. But randomness can be the most interesting part of life—after all, where’s the fun in knowing what comes next? 😀 r.b.
